In this episode, Matt and I discuss Facebook and Twitter. I also misuse the word “demographic”, overuse the words “literally” and “honestly”, and make up a whole new word – “foresaw” for the past tense of “foresee”. There, now I don’t have to tweet about it!
We graciously accept requests for future topics, so leave a comment if you have something you are dying for us to dissect.
[Edited to add: A kind commenter pointed out that “foresaw” is a word after all! Serves me right for using a pocket dictionary offline.]
In part 2 of our query into the end of print, Matt and I discuss books, e-books, libraries, the Kindle (timely!) and my iPhone snobbery. Matt busts out with the phrase “the democratization of distribution” which is merely one of the reasons why he is so awesome.
I eagerly await our listener Ned’s comments on my library-related diatribe. If you haven’t read his comments on part 1, you’re missing out. Every podcast should have a Ned. But not our Ned. Go get your own.
Matt and I talk about the end (question mark) of print in this episode of “… and scene”. We had a lot to say about the topic, so this podcast comes in two installments. The first is about the fate of the newspaper. Tune in next week for the second!
After our “creative hiatus” of over two years, Matt is not rusty, but I sure am. In this episode, he is charming and funny, while I am bitter and annoying. My opinions on vampire novels are sure to alienate the whole family! Don’t miss this!
Once upon a time, two friends decided to podcast. The subject: nothing in particular. The result: ”… and scene.”
They took a ridiculously long hiatus for no apparent reason. But now it’s 2009, and a new episode has just been recorded …

I interview Matt during this episode of “… and scene”. We talk about parenthood, creativity, humor and one thing, just one thing, that drives Matt absolutely bonkers.
Your suggestions for future podcast topics are always welcomed, so send ‘em on!
For this episode of “… and scene”, Matt interviewed me! And I didn’t explode! To be honest, it was rather fun, answering his questions on ghosts and heroes and religion and Screech. Do you sense a Screech theme? Sadly, so do I.
Edited to add: fivecats had a great suggestion. Send in your questions for us to answer in upcoming podcasts! If you have any questions you want me to ask Matt when I interview him next time, please send them soon.
It’s time for another episode of “… and scene.” Matt and I talk about the intarweb, that which unites us, divides us, and forgets to carry the four. What could be better than two nerds talking about Virtual Reality?
… that’s right: two nerds talking about Screech!
Yay, it’s the third episode of “… and scene.” Matt and I talk about the doggone funny adventures of Marmaduke, laundry philosophy, only children, the sham of academia, and how I am not a librarian.
Halsted and Matt talk about “Snakes on a Plane”, illegal immigration, Stephen Colbert’s speech, the new Get a Mac ads and the future of iPods … yet NOT about how they met. Something fishy is going on here.
I’ve never been great with follow-through, which is why it completely surprises and delights me to announce that my writing partner and I have produced our first podcast, “and scene”. Matt and I discuss “Brokeback Mountain”, templates for first dates, the evils of computer stores, and Sharpie poisoning.
