Day 83 of Project 365: Where's Marcel?

This little shell, sans googly-eyes and shoes, has been attached to the outside of one of our living-room windows since before we moved here.

83.365: Where's Marcel?

It might seem like a morose photo for Valentine's Day, but as I was walking home I was thinking about all the things I loved about being here. This is one of those things. Not just this shell in particular, but the peculiar refuse that accumulates on buildings. When I take the bus, I get a great view of first-storey ledges. Mosses and grasses are most prevalent. Along with the occasional rocks, shells, and plastic caps, they form little dioramas of detritus.

Happy Valentine's, or happy day of noticing things we take for granted.

I acknowledge that I live and work on stolen Cowlitz, Clackamas, Atfalati, and Kalapuya land.
I give respect and reverence to those who came before me.
