night off

Today was a long workday, full of meetings and talking and scheduling and rescheduling. No lunch break, even, but I kept myself conscious by snacking and drinking lots of water. All day, I fantasized about my bed, thinking about how my flannel sheets, down pillows and velvet comforter beg to be snuggled into and loved. So soft, so warm, so enveloping …

Okay, now I’m turning myself on. Time for a night offline. Have a good one, folks.

[Edited to add, two hours later: Well, that didn’t work so well. I fell asleep, was woken up by a phone call, fell back asleep and into the same dream, which promptly turned into a nightmare. Maybe I should eat something.]
