900 words

Linda, my creative writing instructor, invited me to the Left Coast Writers salon tonight. She put me on a guest list and everything! I felt official and writerly, but mostly I just felt hungry and like I didn’t know anyone yet. The speaker was Alison Biggar, who is the editor of the San Francisco Chronicle Sunday Magazine. She spoke about submitting articles for publications in magazines, specifically hers. I think I might write a personal essay for the back page. I don’t really have a topic yet, and it has to be 900 words, but I think I should give it a shot, and so does Linda. The topic should be quirky and unusual. Suggestions?

In other writing news, I completed an email tonight that I had been working on for eight days. It weighed 143 Kb when I finally sent it. How many words would that be?
