i cursed you with a hundred bland words

working on a new pantoum, even though i just now discovered i’m doing the last stanza incorrectly. oops. anyway, critiques welcome.

I cursed you with a hundred bland words in your face, behind your back, to the sea. We learned anger cannot balance time or weight in my first fight with the Pacific Ocean.

In your face, behind your back, to the sea: could you fathom what I lost in my first fight with the Pacific Ocean? My purse was stolen, your only picture inside.

Could you fathom what I lost the year we didn’t talk at all? My purse was stolen, your only picture inside; the wrong memories inhabit the right objects.

The year we didn’t talk at all, I cursed you with a hundred bland words. The wrong memories inhabit the right objects, we learned; anger cannot balance time, or weight.
