i finally got my work machine upgraded from windows 95 to windows nt here. it’s still a 166, but at least it doesn’t crash every fifteen minutes anymore.

the whole process took about two hours, and so i missed my bus. that means i’m ferrying home tonight, which is actually a good thing because as i was cooped up in here all day i was dreaming of that crisp sunshine on market street, unremarkable except when you start to see the puppet-strings connecting everyone to the tiny trees, the stubby skyscrapers, and the slinking embarcadero. i always pass the same flower-shop while the sagging blooms are retrieved from the sidewalk; i know they end up in the trash every night but i don’t have to think about it too long unless i want to.
